Table toppers Mohun Bagan will lock horns with DSK Shivajians in a feisty battle at the Balewadi Stadium, Pune on Tuesday. The home side will have be looking for an upset, while a victory for the visitors could see them extend their 100% win record to five games.

Previous games: DSK Shivajians drew 1-1 against Churchill Brothers at home, while the Mariners came from behind to pick up full points against Chennai City FC.

Traveling: The away side flew all the way from Chennai to Pune, a day after the match against Chennai city.

Team morale: After faltering to a draw in their last match DSK will not be very happy as they have managed just 4 points from 4 games, with 3 of the games being at home. The away side are confident of yet another win as they are coming at the back of 4 consecutive wins.

Preparations: Both teams have prepared well for the match. Bagan had a couple of training sessions at the Balewadi Stadium ahead of their midweek clash.

Manager quotes:

Mohun Bagan gaffer Sanjoy Sen knows the importance of a three points as it was the habit of losing points against smaller oppositions that cost Bagan the title last season.

Sanjoy Sen, despite winning four matches on the trot, isn’t getting carried away, “What we have seen of DSK Shivajians is that they are a team of good, experienced players along with some promising young Indian players.”

Sen added, “When you play an away game in this league, it is not easy. When we played Chennai City FC last time, it was not an easy game.”

DSK gaffer was also all praise for the Bagan side.
“Currently the team is at the top of the table. They are another traditionally big I-League club and have had the best start to the season.”

Rogers was optimistic about his boys staging an upset against the former champions.“It is another big test for our players. But a test we are looking forward to and one which our players will relish when they play against Mohun Bagan”, Rogers concluded.

Injury/Suspensions: The home side had missed the services of veteran goalkeeper Subrata Paul in this edition of the I-League. He is expected to be fit soon but it is highly unlikely that he will start against Bagan.

On the other hand, the Green and Maroon brigade will be missing the likes of Kingshuk Debnath, Anas Edathodika and Sehnaj Singh due to injuries.

No suspension headache yet for either side.
