Mohun Bagan To Lodge Complaint Against East Bengal
What's a Kolkata derby without controversy? Days before the Kolkata derby kicks off in Siliguri, a new controversy surrounding the derby tickets has been triggered.
The tickets printed by East Bengal for the derby had Mcdowell Mohun Bagan written on top of Mohun Bagan's logo. Mcdowell are no longer Mohun Bagan's sponsors and this has not got down well with Bagan officials, who are already contemplating a written complaint to AIFF.
The tickets also had 'MMB' written as East Bengal's opponents which is an abbreviation for Mcdowell Mohun Bagan.
However, East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar deemed this ticketing glitch as an 'unintentional mistake'.
East Bengal's 'unintentional mistake' might attract action from the AIFF as Bagan have detailed their grievances to I-League CEO Sunanda Dhar.
The controversy has already sparked anger among the Bagan supporters in social media.
This isn't the first time a derby match ticket has been the subject of a controversy. Mohun Bagan were penalized by AIFF in 2011 when East Bengal lodged a complaint against Bagan for printing Green and Maroon tickets.
