Mohun Bagan gaffer Sanjoy Sen has vented out his anger on National Team coach Stephen Constantine for his post-match comments on Bagan goalie Debjit Majumdar.

Stephen Constantine, after the derby, said that the National team's door is closed for Bagan custodian Debjit Majumdar as he had earlier failed to report for a preparatory camp ahead of India’s World Cup qualifier against Turkmenistan in Kochi last March. "When you call a player and he doesn’t report, what does it mean? It means he is not interested. I called him and he didn’t report, end of story," Constantine said.

This hasn't gone down with Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen who slammed Stephen for his comments. "It is very unfortunate that he is shutting the National Team's door for a particular player. It is beyond me how any coach can say that. Being a coach, I feel ashamed," Sanjoy vented.

Sanjoy Sen also took an indirect jab at the former president of Football Players Association of India (FPAI), Bhaichung Bhutia, who was present during Stephen's blunt comments about the Bagan goalie. "It is unfortunate that Stephen said this standing beside somebody who is deeply involved with the Football Players Association," Sen added.

Sen, however, went on to advocate that his custodian, Debjit Majumdar is mentally very strong and would not be baffled by Stephen's comments. "Debjit has a very strong character. Hopefully, he can put this behind him and prove a point every match," Sen concluded.
