Mariners To Celebrate Mohun Bagan Day on 29th July

Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is going to celebrate Mohun Bagan Day 2016 to commemorate the historic victory of IFA Shield Final against East Yorkshire Regiment 2-1 on 29th July 1911.

Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is going to celebrate Mohun Bagan Day 2016 to commemorate the historic victory of IFA Shield Final against East Yorkshire Regiment 2-1 on 29th July 1911. The event will be hosted at Mohun Bagan Athletic Club Ground on Friday, 29th July 2016.

The following individuals will be felicitated on the day of the Event;

The Executive Committee Members of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club decided to confer the Prestigious Mohun Bagan Ratna to Shri Syed Naeemuddinwith a Cheque of Rs. 1 Lakh (previously it was Rs. 50000/-)  the only athlete to have been conferred with Arjuna Award and Dronacharya Award by the Government of India for his contribution to the game of football both as a player and coach. He also has won many laurels donning the green & maroon jersey. During his tenure as a coach we won 8 major trophies including Federation Cup and Calcutta Football League.

Late Karuna Shankar Bhattacharya award for best footballer for the year 2015-16 will be awarded to Mr. Sony Norde and Mr. Jeje Lalpekhlua for their outstanding performance during the season and also for playing a pivotal role in guiding the team for a record 14th Federation Cup victory.

The best cricketer of the year award will be given to Mr. Wriddhiman Saha for his impeccable performance for Club and Indian National Team during the year. He played an integral part for the Triple Crown achieved by Mohun Bagan Cricket team in the recently concluded cricket season.



The Executive Committee Members of Mohun bagan Athletic Club also decided to felicitate Shri Aroop Biswas for being the Sports Minister in the current Government of West Bengal while being the Vice President of our Club.

Shri Laxmi Ratan Shukla will also be felicitated on winning the recently concluded Legislative Assembly Election and becoming a Minister under the current Government during his instinct as Mohun Bagan Player.

A special award will be given to Shri Arun Lal for his fighting spirit for surviving the life threatening disease. The determination and the will to fight shown by him shall be an inspiration for all in future.

The Club also take pleasure to announce that Mountaineer Mr. Debraj Dutta and Mr. Moloy Mukherjee will also be felicitated for successfully scaling the World’s Highest Peak Mt. Everest; their extraordinary feat caught more attention as the two waved the Green & Maroon Mohun Bagan Flag at the highest peak of the world.
