The iconic IFA Shield will be played out in the last two weeks of May, after the completion of the U-18 I-League.

IFA Shield has been turned into an under-19 affair for the last two years due to the advent of ISL which has further truncated the already dwindling Indian Football Calendar.

IFA is hoping to secure all the leading clubs participate in this year's edition.

While East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, United SC, Mohammedan, Aizawl and Shillong have already confirmed their participation, IFA is hoping to rope in the other leading U-18 teams like last year's champions TFA along with Minerva, DSK Shivajians as well as junior teams of the Goan clubs.

The Sail Academy of Burnpur will also be a part of the tournament as they have re-started their academy with only Bengali kids and would be eager to showcase their progress.

Like every year IFA secretary would look to rope in some foreign teams as well. Last year Crystal Palace Academy and Frenz United Singapore were a part of the show and this year there are rumors of Liverpool Academy being a part of the fourth oldest tournament in the world.
