Kolkata giants East Bengal, Mohun Bagan & Mohammedan Sporting have shared their point of view regarding the I-League and ISL merger with the FIFA & AFC officials on Thursday.

A two-member team of Nic Coward, a consultant to FIFA, and Alex Phillips, head of AFC-UEFA affairs paid a visit to the clubs, in a bid to compile a future roadmap for Indian Football.

The two-member delegation was accompanied by I-League CEO Sunanda Dhar and FSDL official Chirag Tanna.

The 'Big Three' briefed the FIFA-AFC representatives about their legacy and contribution to Indian football, making them deserving candidates to participate in the top league of the country.

The clubs also highlighted the fact that the hefty franchise fee (15 crores) to participate in the ISL is unreasonable. However, the clubs would be happy to pay an 'Entry Fee', provided it's reasonable.

The AFC with the help of FIFA will draft the blueprint of the Indian football roadmap by October-November after the completion of their market research to make the one nation, one league dream a reality by next season.

The delegates are likely to return to Kolkata during the U-17 World Cup next month and give their 'verdict' on the possible merger.
