Indian Super League side FC Pune City have taken the unusual route to form an alliance with Mizoram power-house Chanmari FC, FeverPitch.in can reveal.

The official announcement is likely to be made later today.

So far, ISL teams were seeing only European clubs to tie up with but the fact that FC Pune City have gone the other way is laudable.

Newly appointed assistant coach of the ISL side, Pradhyum Reddy, is believed to be the man behind the idea of tying up with a club, which runs a proper academy in Mizoram.

The tie-up will serve as a big boost to Chanmari FC, the club which played in the 2nd Division I-League three seasons back while giving FC Pune City access to the broad talent base of Mizoram.

Though the exact details of the tie-up are yet to be ascertained, it is believed that Chanmari FC will get the technical expertise of FC Pune City while the ISL side will get access to the talent pool of Chanmari FC.
