DSK Shivajians Sign Seityasen Singh & Soram Poirei
DSK Shivajians have completed the signing of NorthEast United winger Seityasen Singh, FeverPitch has reliably learnt.
The player from Manipur will join the squad sometime next week.
The 24-year-old last plied his trade in the I-League for Salgaocar FC, who decided not to continue in India’s top division. And Dave Rogers’s side continued their major overhaul of the squad by signing the diminutive winger.
Seityasen broke onto the I-League scene two seasons ago with Royal Wahingdoh, when his and Jackichand Singh’s inspired performances helped Santosh Kashyap’s side to a surprising third spot.
He has been on the books of NEUFC since, after the Royals decided to pull out of I-League like many others. He appeared six times for his ISL franchise this season, scoring two in the process.
DSK have also roped in Delhi Dynamos custodian Soram Poirei on temporary basis until the end of the season. The Pune FC graduate came off a brilliant season with Aizawl FC in the I-League & Federation, also putting in some eye-catching performances in the ISL for Gianluca Zambrotta’s side. He will be used as an understudy to veteran goalkeeper Subrata Pal.
The Deccan city side have already added the likes of Nirmal Chettri, Ricky Lallawmawma, Kim Song-yong, Shane McFaul, Saša Kolunija, Sanju Pradhan, Jerry Lalrinzuala, Sumeet Passi, Holicharan Narzary to their roster.
DSK kick off their I-League campaign with an away game against Mumbai FC in the ‘Maharashtra Derby' on Sunday.
