I-League outfit DSK Shivajians will have to pay the penalty for missing out on their pre-match press conference.

The Pune based club, who play Mohun Bagan in the 10thround of the I League and are currently sixth in the league standings, were due to attend a pre-match press conference but they snubbed it. As such, they will be required to pay a hefty fine of 20,000 rupees as stated in the rule book.

According to Article 36(b) of league regulations,” "The head coaches of participating clubs and one (1) starting player from each club are obliged to attend and participate in a pre-match press conference to be held at least one day before the match. The participating club's media officer must ensure the attendance of the head coach and one starting player."

Any infringement, "will result in disciplinary action which may include a fine of a minimum of Rs 20,000 and the head coach may be subject to a ban from the dressing room and/or the substitutes bench".

It is noteworthy to mention that the All India Football Federation have tightened their approach towards handling individuals or organizations who flout rules, and recently handed a fine and suspensions to several Bengaluru FC players as well. The trend continues with DSK as well, which is good to see.
