Bengaluru FC Boss Albert Roca Slams Referee; Accuses Mumbai FC Of Time Wasting
Bengaluru FC head coach Albert Roca slammed referee Ramaswamy Srikrishna Coimbatore for giving, what according to him, was too little injury time.
The defending champions dropped points for a sixth I-League match in a row, something that puts them eight points off table-toppers East Bengal.
Addressing the media after the game, Roca slammed the referee, who awarded three minutes of injury time towards the end of Bengaluru’s goalless draw against Mumbai FC. “I cannot understand the referees. The other team was wasting so much time, and injury time were only three minutes,” said a perturbed Roca.
“It takes three minutes to make all the substitutions.” The Spaniard further went on to criticize Mumbai FC for their defensive. “It goes against (the team) that wants to win. It helps the other team who do not have the intention to win. So I cannot understand that. It's something that only happens here in India,” he said.
“It is not acceptable how the other team is trying to waste time. The pressure is on us to do something. Do you think that with six substitutes, and all the times our doctor came onto the pitch (twice), but nothing happens,” concluded Roca.
