As the 3rd round of the I-League dawns upon us, Jeje Lalpekhlua, the 2016 AIFF Player of the year, is ready for a new battle.
Speaking to the media a day before Mohun Bagan lock horns with I-League debutants Minerva Punjab FC, Jeje opens up about the match, his new strike partner and the I-League.  

Excerpts:

Q. Mohun Bagan have a full squad at their disposal now with the return of Sony. How is the fitness level of the squad?

We are getting fitter with every passing day and I guess the fitness will be a crucial element in lifting the trophy. 

Q. You have a new strike partner in Duffy. Do you think the combination will work?  

Duffy is a fantastic player. I know him well and I am looking forward to playing with him.

Q. Now that Sony Norde is here, how strong do you think the team is now?

Sony is a crucial member of the squad and his presence always creates a difference. No doubt his arrival will make the team stronger, but we have also won two matches without him.

Q. How eager are you to score your first goal this season?
 
Whenever I get a chance I want to score goals.

Q. What's your take on the debutants Minerva Punjab FC?

Minerva are a very good side.They played good football against Chennai City FC and have a lot of exciting talents at their disposal such as Vinit, Manandeep, Germanpreet. So, it won't be an easy game.

Q. Your take on this year's I-League?

This year it won't be easy and hopefully, we can extract the best result for the team.
